Yep. Good old Lucifer, the tiny terror that plagues our neighborhood. They went on vacation so we all had a reprieve but hi there. He is home now. Again patrolling on his leash and waiting to bite our ankles or pull us down maybe like a zombie waiting for the kill. lol. This dog has no words for how mean he is. Yesterday he was chasing after the poor cat he happened to see sitting on a porch while his master/mommy was trying to reign him in. For such a small dog he sure is strong and often breaks off his leash. I wonder how much she spends on those in a year. So, haha, welcome home Lucifer (my name for him, not hers). We all look forward to more terror as you stalk us. With love (and fear and shaking hearts) we are in awe (not) that you made it back safely. In reality we hoped maybe she had found you a new home. hahaha
Some of you may have heard about the neighbor dog Lucifer. A Chihuahua. The picture ( I had to borrow one of the net because there is no way I am getting close to that dog) but it is close enough to show his reign of terror.
Soooo, we had a beautiful breezy day so I decided to stroll around the neighborhood. I was really enjoying the stroll and started back home when I heard it. THE BARK. Coming towards me. I see Lucifer (my name for him) in all of his 3 or 4 pound glory coming right for me. I must have looked like a maniac in my mad dash to get away from him. Running sideways and through bushes, one of which I jumped. By this time I am two houses away from my home, out of breath, terrified and about to collapse but determined. very determined. Right about the time he gains on me, aiming his little needle teeth for my ankles, I hear his owners sweet melodic voice calling her baby. It gave him enough pause for me to dash to my door and slam it in safety. A few minutes later she is knocking, minus Lucifer. She apologizes, explaining once again how harmless he really is. I was nice. I told her it was fine as I am still gasping for breath and closed my door. hahahahahaha. All things said, I LOVE animals but I hate that dog. That dog is determined to get me and half of the other neighbors who cringe when we hear him out and about. Needless to say, the squirrels were quiet, once again the birds stopped their chirping and I could have sworn I saw a leaf with a look of fright on its face. I think I may move. haha
No, his name is NOT really Lucifer. He is my neighbors dog. I LOVE all animals and animals love me but THIS dog? I swear he has to be from the pits of Hades. this dog HATES everything. he hates the sky, he hates the leaves falling, he hates squirrels, people, other animals and he even hates acorns. yes, those nut things that fall from trees and roll onto the ground. Whenever my neighbor walks that dog we all run into our houses in fear. He tries to lunge at us or any thing that exist and tear our throats out or destroy into shreds any existing thing on the ground. Leaves run at the sight of this dog. Birds quit singing. frogs make no noise. flowers wilt. trees start breaking in sheer terror. okay, I am getting a little overboard but still this dog. If a dog ever earned the name Lucifer, this one is it. and his owner? Wow. sweetest lady you will ever meet. she coddles him, pampers him, and even tries to explain his behavior. she say’s he was born that way and that he bit his mother when he got teeth because he suffers from depression. Lucifer is a 3 or 4 pound Chihuahua. lol.
My older pup, Buddy, is my constant indoor companion. My two outside shepherds, too big to live inside but well equipped with outdoor housing and shade and an abundance of toys are big babies. They love mommy and daddy and we can play for tow or more hours a day and walk them and they still want more attention even though they have almost an acre of free roaming space and each other. My cats are like mini monsters. They love to break, destroy, tear apart and well, actually just turn anything that is within reach into a shred of nothing. And then there are my sweet parakeets. They had two babies to my total shock and surprise that grew and came out of the nesting box. Well, now two weeks later mama bird is back in box so I assume more babies are coming. If nothing else, my animals fill me with love and daily surprises! have a great day fellow bloggers!
The parakeet update is the two babies are still growing as of now. They are so far still thriving but my camera has a flash so I cannot get it off and I am scared I will blind them so hello anxiety as I worry anxiously about whether to chance it or not so I can share with all of you. Then my cat, the “do nothing” cat when I try to get pictures is still, well doing nothing but watching does help my anxiety. And my dog, Buddy, a pom, the brother to two German shepherds, is my Anxiety helper. He tries to calm me when I get too anxious. So this is the day to share anxiety, the thriving baby keets and of course anxiety and how it affects me and how my dog Buddy helps me through it. But now I am about to go upstairs and try to get a pic of the baby keets so anxiety. Okay I took them but got worried so here is the best view I have. Anxiety. hahaha. Hello. again. 🙂 I think it is time for some Yoga!
I have written about my little pal Buddy before. 14 this year and he is a mix between Pom/Pap. I love him and I think he is probably the best dog as far as kindness I have ever had. he does not bite, attack or even bother anyone. Just pet, love and treats. However, as he gets older he developed a skin allergy. So, after trying everything that friends and Vets suggested someone told me to use a Listerine mix.
So, I figured it couldn’t hurt. You mix equal parts of yellow Listerine and water, like a cup of each and two teaspoons of oil. For me, I used liquid coconut oil. Well, I have been trying it for a few days and wanted to share that I am already seeing results! So, for any of you who have dogs with skin allergies, it may just work! I sure hope so. So far, so good!
Buddy. The little dog
13 years old and still little and I love him.
He is a friend
a loyal dog who is by my side at all times when I am home
He is sweet
gets scared of everything
A ray of sunshine in my life.
He is one of the greatest pet gifts ever given to me.
He is The little dog that loves.
I have my dog Buddy who is almost 11 and he has decided in the few weeks, he wants me awake at 9 a.m. every morning. Soooo, being a person who has trouble sleeping at night I am not really happy about this. hahahahaha. BUT I LOVE my boo boo so I guess I have a new alarm clock. lol
I had to say goodbye to my beautiful rescue of 10 years yesterday, Tracer. My heart was so broken and I cried all day. I guess he was older than I thought when I rescued him. Starving, dying from lack of food and he wandered up on my sisters property. It was evening when I pulled in and saw this starving dog. I had a meal I had bought, got out of my car and fed him and gave him the bottled water I had. As he stood back up, he just put his head against my leg and looked at me with these beautiful sad brown eyes.
I thought my sister would keep him but when I got back home, 40 miles away she had called and said no. He would be taken to the pound because they couldn’t care for him. I couldn’t sleep at all that night and I told my husband early the next morning, “I am going to get that dog. I have already named him Tracer. If he will get in my car, I am bringing him.” He had touched my heart when he just put his head against my leg.
So, off I went, stopped and got some fast food and prayed on my way he was still alive and still there. I pulled up and there he was, on the ground, shivering. I walked over and fed him some of the food and said, “Come on Tracer, we are going home.” I opened my old Volvo door and as bad off as he was he managed to jump in. That was 10 years ago. I did not realize it at the time but he rescued me too. He was my loyal friend, devoted tome, my companion. Three days ago, he started sleeping a lot and acting weird. He had been abused I knew because he would growl if he ever felt cornered which could be as simple as being against anything solid if he felt a threat. But I only showed him love. I stayed with him almost non stop these last three days as he seemed to get weaker and weaker.
I called the Vets but they wanted to muzzle and etc. which would have scared him so much. He was eating, drinking, walking (slowly) but other than sleeping a lot seemed just tired. The night before last he quit eating or drinking that evening. I knew I was losing him. I sat with him until 3 a.m., in the rain for me, in his shelter for him as I petted him. He died a little after 3 a.m. and I cried all day yesterday. I miss him so much. I love you Tracer and I hope, after who knows how many years of abuse, our ten years together made up for it. I will forever be grateful for the time and love we shared but I am sure going to miss you my sweet friend. I love you.
I have tried to lead by example but he just does not get it. Every day he grovels and jumps and wags his tail so they pet him and talk to him and coddle him. So stupid. Be like me. I just lounge on the couch by the window and THEY come to me. I beg for nothing.
You beg for food, treats and everything else when I have tried to show you all you have to do is just be lazy. You still get fed, you still get treats and you have to do NOTHING! But no, you still do the same thing every day. Every. Single. Day. I tolerate you because I guess you just cannot help it. you are just dumb. I guess the likes of you will never learn. But I hope. Maybe one day, you will learn from my highly keen mind and relax and it all comes to us and all we have to do is be here. I am sorry dog. But you are pathetic. Sincerely, your fellow live in companion, The Cat.
