Money and the Search for happiness

Money. It is what we have to have to keep things paid, enjoy some down time and a lot more. But money is not the key to happiness. It helps of course but there will always be a need or want for more. I have a friend on face book who I have never seen more happy than with things given to her that have no monetary value.

She takes delight in the simple things and she is always happy. She is neither rich nor poor as far as money but she is so wealthy in her happiness. She is probably my favorite person on my face book. Why? Because she brings me joy when I have a bad day or I am in the midst of anxiety or worry.

I can always see her post or go to her page and it is always a smiling face I see. No matter what is going on, she finds a positive from a negative and she just does not seem to care how much money she does or does not have because her life is centered on her family and her, well, life.

She just appreciates everything and she is such a good example of how not to let money overwhelm your life and thoughts. I have learned so much from her even though we never see each other and though we only talk on face book, she was a best friend of my daughter who passed. I get to see how my daughter would have enjoyed life through her and I am so blessed and grateful my daughter had her for a best friend.

What a treasure to learn from someone and at times I have to go back to the pages to remember, money can hold you captive or your heart can love and be happy and that will set you free from the stress of monetary things. It is not money that gets us through. Yes, we of course have to have it to survive but to live, to really live, we truly do just need LOVE.

When Life overwhelms

Sometimes it can seem too much. Bills, kids, trying to get things done. Not enough time to go around for jobs, the spouse, or current flame, family, parties, list, needs, helps, wants and so on.

But those are the times we need to take a moment and just be still. There are too many things that can overwhelm us and yet, there are only so many hours in the day. So, sometimes it is good to just sit, back, let go, let God and just know you have done the best that you could or can do at this time.

Those are he times when we find out, when we just stop and take a moment, that it will work out but if it doesn’t, that is okay too. Eventually, good will come if you try and put forth your best. Those are the days you will look back on and say, “Yeah, I did good.”
